SLAUGHTERBRIDGE

Nick Hanks was a foundered director of STEP (Slaughterbridge Training Excavation Project) and TESP (Tintagel Environs Survey Project). The work here involved the excavation of a deserted medieval village site, a mid 18th century garden with a 6th century inscribed stone at its centre, the study of the wider landscape which includes Tintagel in the 6th-10th centuries. The training of students here included a party of Bedouin from the United Arab Emirates.

He is no longer actively involved in the project or in the updating of the pages you can access via this link.

The projects continue being overseen by Dr Niall Finneran of Winchester University.

The current website for the projects as it continues is at North Cornwall Heritage.
